About Self-Directed Services and Fiscal Intermediaries

Self-Direction, or Self-Directed Services (SDS), gives you the chance to choose your own services so you can live the life you want. When you self-direct your services, you have increased flexibility to choose the right supports for you, the staff you want to work with, and a schedule that works best for you. This gives you more control over how you want to structure your life. All participants who choose SDS services must choose a Fiscal Intermediary (FI) who will support them in managing their funds through the self-direction budget.

STC is hosting a two-part series on FI’s to discuss the agencies available in our region and address the differences between each to help you make an informed decision on choosing your FI provider. The webinars are open to both members and care managers.
