
Self-Directed Services and Fiscal Intermediaries
Self-Direction, or Self-Directed Services (SDS), gives you the chance to choose your own services so you can live the life you want. When you self-direct your services, you have increased flexibility to choose the right supports for you, the staff you want to work with, and a schedule that works best for you. This gives you more control over how you want to structure your life. All participants who choose SDS services must choose a Fiscal Intermediary (FI) who will support them in managing their funds through the self-direction budget.
STC hosted a two-part series on FI’s to discuss the agencies available in our region and address the differences between each to help you make an informed decision on choosing your FI provider. These sessions took place on January 8 and January 15, respectively, and recordings of the sessions can be viewed below.
